Marlborough – At their annual fall meeting, the Marlborough Hospital Auxiliary presented two checks to Steven McCue, chief financial officer of the hospital.

Theresa Banfield, representing the Marlborough Hospital Well Wishes Gift Shop managed by the auxiliary and staffed by hospital volunteers, presented a check for $3,000 and Susan Weber, president of the auxiliary, presented a check for $2,500 from proceeds raised at the auxiliary’s flea market in September.

“It is an honor and a privilege to accept these checks on behalf of the hospital,” McCue said. “We truly appreciate the generosity and the dedication of the auxiliary’s hardworking members.  Through the years, the auxiliary has helped the hospital purchase new medical equipment, televisions for patient rooms, the building of the Cancer Center and many other projects. This year’s donations will be applied to the renovation project of our inpatient rooms.”

For nearly 120 years, the auxiliary has been an integral part of the Marlborough Hospital team, helping to make the hospital a great choice for the community’s health care needs. The Well Wishes Gift shop is open to the public Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and carries gifts and decorative items, jewelry, scarves and more. The shop is located in the front lobby of the hospital, 157 Union St.
