Marlborough – City Clerk Lisa Thomas gave the official Municipal Election Call at the Oct. 19 City Council meeting. It will take place Tuesday, Nov. 3. Mayor Arthur Vigeant, who has held the post for the past four years, is being opposed by former Fire Chief Edward “Skee” Bigelow. Eliminated in the preliminary election held earlier this month were Paul Polewacyk and Erik Jewett.

Vying for the four councilor-at-large seats are incumbents Mark Oram, Michael Ossing and Katie Robey, along with Maureen Brennan, Paul Brodeur, former Ward 4 City Councilor Peter Juaire, James Jumonville, and former School Committee member Kenneth Vigeant. David Doucette and former Councilor Paul Ferro are vying for the Ward 2 seat and in Ward 3 Councilor Matt Elder is being challenged by Jerry Dumais.

Ballots also include Peggy Ayres and Domenic Valarioti for a seat on the Assabet Valley School Committee, and Katherine Hennessy, Heidi Matthews and Mark Walter, candidates for the Marlborough School Committee.

Returning to their positions as Ward councilors are Joseph Delano, Ward 1; Robert Tunnera, Ward 4; John Irish, Ward 5; Edward Clancy, Ward 6; and Donald Landers, Ward 7.

Residents in five precincts will be voting at the new Senior Center on New Street. They include: ward 3, precinct 1; ward 4, precincts 1 and 2; ward 5, precincts 1 and 2. Polling locations for the remaining precincts are as follows: both precincts in wards 1 and 2, Francis J. Kane School, 520 Farm Road; ward 3, precinct 2, Richer School, 80 Foley Road; both precincts in ward 6, 1Lt. Charles W. Whitcomb Middle School, 25 Union St.; and both precincts in ward 7, Hildreth School, 85 Sawin St.
