Northborough – Gillis Campbell of Northborough earned second place at Pam’s Run 5K Oct. 18 at the Claypit Hill School in Wayland to benefit Neighbor Brigade, a nonprofit organization that mobilizes community-based groups of volunteers to help neighbors in crises. Other top male finishers included first place winner Ryan Tapply and third place winner Lucas Rostler, both of Wayland. Over 600 runners and walkers hit the pavement at Pam’s Run, Neighbor Brigade’s largest annual fundraiser that earned over $70,000 for ongoing support services. Neighbor Brigade was founded by Pam Manikas Washek in 2010 during a prolonged battle with cancer and has now grown to 29 chapters across Eastern Massachusetts including a chapter in Northborough/Southborough. Washek turned her pain into purpose by starting Neighbor Brigade so others experiencing crises in their own families could receive help. Pam’s Run honors her legacy and benefits programs and support services across the state.
