Shrewsbury – About 25 fifth- and sixth-grade students at Sherwood Middle School (SMS) and their parents recently participated in the Super Power Fun Run, which included a one-mile run around the track and the school. Students were asked to wear costumes that reflected their super power and awards were given to the most creative costumes. Super powers included one student dressing up like the Chrysler Building because she loves architecture. Others wore costumes that reflected sports themes, musical talents, as well as superheroes.

The event was planned by students involved in the Health & Wellness group of the SMS Student Voice Service Program, a community service group at Sherwood Middle School where students are devoted to several different aspects of volunteerism. They work together to plan and participate in events in the community.
