Northborough – The fourth seed Algonquin Regional High School Tomahawks volleyball team was defeated by the fifth seed Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School Warriors by a score of 3-1 in a MIAA Girls Volleyball Central/West Division 1 quarter-final playoff match played Nov 7.
The teams split the first two games, with Lincoln-Sudbury winning the first and Algonquin winning the second. Lincoln-Sudbury won the pivotal third game 26-24, after Algonquin rallied to come from behind to tie the game at 24-24. Lincoln-Sudbury won the match with a 25-22 victory in the final game.
Algonquin concludes their season with an overall 17-4 record. Lincoln-Sudbury advances to play top-seeded Concord-Carlisle in the semi-final round of the playoffs.
