Obit Rita ConnorsMarlborough – Rita R. (Tardif) Connors, 88, of Marlborough, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015 at Holy Trinity Nursing Home. She was the widow of Edmond “Lefty” Connors, who died in 1986.

Born in Lewiston, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Gaston and Imelda (Bilodeau) Tardif. She moved to Marlborough in 1946.

Mrs. Connors leaves four sons, Peter, of Spencer, David, of Marlborough, John and his wife Anabelle of Northborough, and Michael and his wife Laurie of Spencer; and her daughter, Laurie Ibbotson and son-in-law William of Plymouth. She also leaves two grandsons, Craig Woods and Mark Woods and his wife Tara; four great-grandchildren, Aiden, Malory, Colin, and Garett Woods; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Rosaire and Roger Tardif, and sisters, Alma and Bernadette Tardif.

Mrs. Connors enjoyed many years of traveling with her family and friends throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe.

After her retirement from Digital Equipment Corporation in Marlborough, she devoted many hours volunteering at the Marlborough Council on Aging, as a friend of the Marlborough Seniors, a friend of the Marlborough Library, Marlborough Historical Society, and Opera Worcester, Inc.

She enjoyed her family and friends, doing crafts, reading, attending concerts, and Sunday breakfasts with her dear friend, Arthur Marsan.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, Nov. 12, from 9-11 a.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, followed by a service in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
