Marlborough – Alphonse Noel “Pépère” Blais, 95, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015 after a long period of failing health. He was the loving husband of Jacqueline “Jackie” (Blais) Blais, to whom he was married for 69 years.

He was born in St. Hubert of Spaulding, Quebec, the son of the late Archelas and Amanda (Cote) Blais, and moved to Marlborough in 1961 from Holland, Vt., where he lived most of his young life.

Mr. Blais worked as a machinist for the Lapointe Machine Tool Co. in Hudson and the Entwistle Company in Hudson for many years.  He was a member of the Immaculate ConceptionChurch in Marlborough and a long ime member of the former Saint Mary’s Church in Marlborough.

He is survived by two sons, Andre Blais and his wife Deanna of Marlborough and Roger Blais of Brownington, Vt.; six daughters, Helene Blais of Marlborough, Patricia Wilson of Marlborough, Lucy Bigelow and her husband “Skee” of Marlborough, Rose Marie Blais of N. Palm Beach, Fla., Lise McCarthy of Marlborough, and Michelle Blais of Marlborough; one sister, Theresa Blanchette of Nashua, N.H.; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two daughters, Monique Hill and Denise Jessie, and 12 brothers and sisters.

His funeral was held Nov. 30 in the Immaculate Conception Church of Marlborough, with burial at Saint Mary’s Cemetery. The William R. Short and Son Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
