Obit Robert ScourasNorthborough – Robert N. Scouras, 85, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.

He leaves his beloved wife of 64 years, June (Marshall) Scouras; his daughter, Darlene and her husband Robert Muto; his son, Charles Scouras and companion Wendy Cronan,; his grandchildren, whom he adored, Matthew, Stephanie, Hannah and Samuel; and his sisters, Virginia Camacho, Diana Nelson, and Electra Scouras, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and their children. He was predeceased by his son, David, and his brothers, Charles and John Scouras.

Robert was born in Marlborough, the son of Nicholas and Sophia (Ladas) Scouras. He graduated from Marlborough High School in 1948 and was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army.

Robert was a chef in the family business at Stuart’s Diner & Restaurant, Worcester, and worked at Glavin Regional Center, Shrewsbury. He enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking (especially during family holidays), tending his flower and vegetable gardens, and bird watching. He will be remembered most for his anecdotes and wit and will be deeply missed by his family, friends and dear neighbors, Michael and Michele Horan and family.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 10 a.m., at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough, with a service immediately following at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will take place at Maplewood Cemetery in Marlborough.
