Obit Ernest CoulsonNorthborough – Ernest A. Coulson, beloved husband of 10 years to Micheline (Stevens) Coulson of Wells, Maine, passed peacefully at his home Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, in the arms of his loving wife and surrounded by his loving children.

He was born May 2, 1935 in Marlborough, and was a 1955 graduate of Hudson High School and 1957 graduate of Stockbridge School of Agriculture. He served in the U.S. Army with the rank of Sergeant in 1962. Prior to moving to Maine in 1998, Ernie and his wife Jean had vacationed there for many years.

He had retired from the Norton Company in Massachusetts as a maintenance technician. Upon his retirement in Maine, Ernie worked in maintenance for the Wells Plaza.

Ernie was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing as well as woodworking and mechanical repairs.

Ernie was predeceased by his first wife of 45 years, Jean (Butman) in 2003; his father A. Eason Coulson; and sister, Lucy Labonte. He is survived by his wife, Micheline (Stevens) Coulson of Wells, Maine; his brother, Henry of Melbourne, Fla.; his sons, David (Patty) Coulson of Wells, Maine, Glen (Effie) Coulson of West Forks, Maine, and Wayne (Anne) Coulson of Charlton; a daughter, Alta McCarthy (Ron) of Valrico, Fla.; a step-son, Stephen (Becky) Stone, and step-daughter, Marcy Mayo  (Bruce), all of Wells, Maine; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, Dec. 8, from 4-7 p.m., at the Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. Funeral services are Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m., at the Hays Funeral Home, followed by burial in Howard Street Cemetery.
