Northborough – The Northborough Police Department released this statement this morning:
On Dec. 12, 11:45 p.m. Northborough police officers were dispatched to the Econo Lodge Inn & Suites on 380 Southwest Cut-off for a reported assault. Upon arrival the officers located a male subject who stated he had been stabbed in his abdomen. After a brief investigation, officers located the suspect, Eduardo Velasques, 27, of Trenton, N.J., outside his motel room and he was subsequently arrested. It was learned that the suspect and victim are co-workers who are in the area doing residential roofing jobs and work for a company based out of New Jersey.
The victim was transported to Umass University Campus by the paramedics of the Northborough Fire Department and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Velasques was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault with the intent to maim, disorderly conduct and giving a false name during booking.
