Stephen J. Greenlaw, 63, of Marlborough

118

Obit Stephen GreenlawMarlborough – Stephen J. Greenlaw, 63, of Marlborough, passed away at his home Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015 and at long last has found peace. He was the husband of Susan M. (LaJeunesse) Greenlaw for the past 43 years.

He was born, raised and educated in Marlborough, the son of Ann E. (Marshall) Buxton of Merritt Island, Fla. and the late Percival Buxton II, and was a 1970 graduate of Marlborough High School.

Steve was a self-employed general contractor for many years and was also a well-loved fixture at the Prospector East Saloon for 17 years.

Stephen loved the beach, his garden, but more than anything, surf casting. He was always hoping to score a “keeper.” He was member of the ITAM and American Legion Akroyd Houde Post 132.

He will be remembered as a fiercely devoted father who adored his wife, children and grandchildren, and as a proud man who fought through whatever life threw his way. His loyalty to family and friends was second to none.

Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Ian M. Greenlaw and his longtime companion David Sherblom of Clinton and Gregory J. Greenlaw of Marlborough; a daughter, Lauren A. Greenlaw of Marlborough; four brothers, Neil Greenlaw of Massachusetts, Brian Greenlaw, Tim Greenlaw, and Pete Buxton, all of Merritt Island, Fla.; two sisters, Bonnie Sorensen of Merritt Island, Fla. and Laura Buxton of Orlando, Fla.; two stepsisters, Becky Latimer of Houston, Texas and Cathy Kibertz of Pasadena, Calif.; four granddaughters, Haven, Kiya, Skylar and Maggie; and a grandson, Taryn. He also leaves his beloved mother-in-law, Frances LaJeunesse of Marlborough, and many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Robin Manning of Merritt Island, Fla.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, Dec. 17, at 11:00 a.m., at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Dec. 16, from 6-9 p.m., in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.

All are invited to sign Steve’s online guestbook at www.CollinsFuneral.com.
