Hudson – On an unusually foggy morning Dec. 11, second-graders Kendall Jordan and A.J. Leandres were transported to C.A. Farley Elementary School via a Hudson Fire Department truck by Firefighters Brian Harrington, Matt LaBossiere and Brian Sleeper. Their unique mode of transportation wasn’t due to weather conditions. It was a raffle prize at the annual Ice Cream Social, a fundraiser for the Farley Home & School Association.

Kendall, 7, won the ride and could invite a friend to join her. She chose her cousin A.J., 7, also a Farley second-grader. A.J.’s sister Lexi, 5, went along for the ride to the school, where they met their brother Jameson Joseph, six months.

The Ice Cream Social was rescheduled to October from September when the school cooler malfunctioned. Raffle tickets were sold for $1 each or six for $5, but the chance for the cousins to ride to school via a firetruck was priceless.
