Shrewsbury – The Algonquin Regional High School Tomahawks girls’ basketball team defeated the Shrewsbury High School Colonials by a score of 41-31 in a game played on December 28.
Algonquin led 23-11 at halftime. Shrewsbury had a strong run in the second half but was unable to close the gap. Lauren Power was the top scorer for Shrewsbury with 12 points and Kate Montigny contributed 9. Caroline Leonard was the top scorer for Algonquin with 10 points while Heather Chan, Amanda Carroll, and Rachel McMenemy each scored 6.
Algonquin improves to 2-1 on the season while Shrewsbury falls to 2-3.
