Obit Lucille MacDonaldNorthborough – Lucille B. (Hendrix) Holsomback MacDonald, formerly of Rome, Ga., passed away peacefully at home Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at the age of 101. Her only son, Lowell Holsomback, died last August.

She leaves her devoted daughter-in-law with whom she lived, Catherine Holsomback of Northborough; two grandchildren, Michele Matthews and husband Ed of Sterling and Susan Huckins and husband John of N. Billerica; three great- grandchildren, Kyle, Daniel and Erin Huckins; her brother, Gene Hendrix, and her sister, Pat Grant of Dublin, Ga; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased siblings Jewel Snead, Willie Mae Warnack, Hazel Rogers, Wilma Selman, Mildred Sutherland, J.D. Hendrix, Roy Hendrix, Harold Hendrix and Bobby Joe Hendrix.

Lucille was born in Crossville, Ala. and moved to Northborough in 1963. She worked in the shoe industry as a stitcher in Marlborough for 12 years upon her retirement.

Lucille enjoyed the simple things of life such as sewing, craftwork, dancing and Southern cooking. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Jan. 12, from 6-8 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. Lucille’s funeral will take place Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery.
