Westborough – Starting in February, a new municipal aggregation program, called Westborough Community Choice, will provide residents and businesses who currently are customers of National Grid a way to purchase electricity at lower rates from Constellation Energy Power Choice, Inc.

The two-year agreement will offer the supply price of 9.21 cents/kilowatt-hour (kWh) and will include all rate classes, including residential, commercial and industrial. That price will beat the recently announced National Grid Basic Service winter rates by 3.8 cents/kWh, according to officials.

All residents and businesses who currently purchase electricity through National Grid will be automatically enrolled into this program. Those who do not use National Grid may opt into the program by calling 844-483-5004 or visiting www.town.westborough.ma.us/communitychoice.
