Shrewsbury – The St. John’s High School ski team improved to 23-1 on the season after taking home first place in Central Mass Conference Ski League meet held Jan. 28 at Ski Ward. Shrewsbury’s Chris Simon finished at the top with a total of 48.11 seconds, but St. John’s Mitchell Sampson finished second overall with 48.36 seconds, and Bradley Sampson finished third overall with 48.65 seconds.
On the girls’ side, Meredyth Curtis from Millis finished first overall with a total of 52.05 seconds. Westborough’s Alexa Conlin finished second with 52.08 seconds, and Shrewsbury’s Sydney Murner finished third with 52.2 seconds. The Westborough girls retain first place in the conference with a 25-2 record, and Shrewsbury is not far behind at a 22-5.
