Westborough – Julio’s Liquors is excited to once again celebrate its annual “Go Whisk(e)y” Weekend. A mecca for whiskey lovers, the conference will take place from Wednesday, Feb. 24 through Sunday, Feb. 28. For the past decade, the action-packed five day event has attracted people from all over the nation, hobbyists and experts alike. To top it off, the majority of the events and tastings at the conference are free, while VIP tickets are available for those looking to make the most of their experience.
The highlight of “Go Whisk(e)y” Weekend, the Loch & K(e)y Society’s Grand Dram Tasting will take place Sunday, Feb. 28 from 1-4 p.m. At the free tasting, a variety of over 300 Drams from around the world will be available for guests to taste.
“At Julio’s, we love whiskey,” said Ryan Maloney, the store’s owner. “We are world-renowned for our whiskey selection, so what better place to hold the largest whiskey tasting event in New England?”
The conference will kick off Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. with a free mini-tasting of some of the hundreds of whiskies that will be available to taste over the course of the weekend. A Skinner tasting event will be held Thursday, Feb. 25 and a Jim Beam pairing and dinner will be held Friday, Feb. 26. Saturday, Feb. 27 will feature whiskey seminars, many of which are free, and will include special guests such as F. Paul Pacult, renowned spirits critic and editor of F. Paul Pacult’s “Spirit Journal,” and David Blackmore, Global Master Brand Ambassador for Glenmorangie and Ardbeg, among many others.
On Saturday evening, a meet and greet will be held from 7-9 p.m. for event attendees to taste whiskey and talk to representatives from over 20 different distilleries.
