Marlborough – Each year, Mayor Arthur Vigeant and the Marlborough Youth Commission recognize the youth in the City of Marlborough with the Youth Service Award. The award recognizes exceptional youth volunteerism and community engagement outside the classroom.

“I put youth voices on the Youth Commission not only to give young Marlborough residents a voice in government, but also to make sure that we recognize the good work that many of our young people do every day,” Vigeant said.

Added Kelley French of the Youth Commission, “It’s always a joy learning about the selfless service many residents do. We are excited to read the nominations of what is sure to be another great group of young people.”

Anyone who would like to nominate a Marlborough student in grades 7 – 12 is welcome to fill out a nomination form. The form can be found on the city of Marlborough website home page, www.marlborough-ma.gov. The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 11.

The purpose of the Marlborough Youth Commission is to enhance the quality of life for city youth, and raise up young leaders by facilitating partnerships within the community to better meet and keep up with the needs of the youth of Marlborough. Anyone interested in working on the Youth Commission, contact French at [email protected] or email the Youth Commission at [email protected].
