Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury Public Library received a $5,000 grant to continue their English Conversation Circle program in 2016. The program helps non-English speakers practice speaking English in a safe environment with an experienced teacher. In addition to the four sessions a week that they offer at the library and the Shrewsbury Federal Credit Union, the library is now launching a weekly session at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Father Smith Center (lower level), 130 Boston Turnpike. The program is free and open to non-English-speaking adults in the community. Experienced ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher and Shrewsbury resident, Ellen Donahue, will lead the session. Sessions will be held in the church’s Father Smith Center (lower level), 130 Boston Turnpike, Mondays from 10 to 11 a.m. beginning Feb. 15. For more information or to register, call 508-841-8531.
