Grafton – Katherine T. (Gaffey) Lodie, 82, passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 2016.
She leaves her husband of 57 years, Alceste “Chet” Lodie; her son, Timothy Lodie, his wife Dina and their children Evan and Aidan; and her daughter, Tracey Savoie, her husband Aaron and their children William and Evelyn, along with several nephews and many cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers, John Gaffey Jr. and Joseph Gaffey.
Katherine was born June 10, 1933 in Malden, daughter of the late Anna (Sullivan) and John Gaffey Sr. Her roots were deeply planted in Malden where she met her husband Chet, married in 1958, and raised two loving children. She resided in her family home in Malden for 73 years before moving to Grafton nine years ago.
For nearly 20 years, Katherine worked in the payroll department for the Boston & Maine Railroad.
Her legacy is of the gifts of her time and love she gave so selflessly to the family she adored.
All are invited to gather with Katherine’s family and friends Wednesday, Feb. 17, from 4-7 p.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Feb. 18, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Church, 17 Waterville St., North Grafton. She will then be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in South Grafton.
