Westborough –Over the past few years, the Registry of Motor Vehicles has made it easier to do certain transactions online, in an effort to help alleviate some of the congestion and lengthy waiting periods that often occurs in a visit to the registry. And while many have taken advantage of this service, others, particularly senior citizens who may not know how or be comfortable with doing their business online, have not. But now, proponents of a new partnership between the state’s Department of Transportation (MassDOT) and approximately 60 councils on aging, including Westborough, hope to change that.
Every Tuesday, from 2-4 p.m., senior center volunteers that have been trained by MassDOT will be at the center’s 4 Rogers Rd. location, ready to assist seniors with online transactions such as renewing or duplicating licenses and vehicle registrations. For more information call the center at 508-366-3000.
