Shrewsbury – Nick Zecco, a student from the Oak Middle School was recently selected to represent Shrewsbury in a state-wide service organization, Project 351.

The program “unites diverse 8th grade service ambassadors from every city and town in the commonwealth for an inspirational year of community service, leadership development, and enrichment,” according to its website.

Together with hundreds of other student ambassadors from across the commonwealth, Nick participated in a Launch Day ceremony at Faneuil Hall in Boston to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King. The students also had the opportunity to meet Gov. Charlie Baker before setting off to work on service projects throughout the city. The young ambassadors then ended the day with a town meeting and celebration at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.
