Obit-Flag_USE-THIS-ONE4Marlborough – Robert William McAllister, 82, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016 at the Edith Nourse Rogers Veterans Hospital in Bedford. He was the beloved husband of 51 years to the late Yvonne J. (Jusseaume) McAllister, who died in November 2015.

Robert was born and raised in Hudson, son of the late Percy and Eleanor (Belotti) McAllister. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Hudson High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Navy and also served in the U.S. Army as a Vietnam veteran. He was a lifelong resident of Marlborough and spent many years dealing in the purchase and sales of antiques. He was a longtime member of the former Saint Ann’s Parish in Marlborough, member of the V.F.W. and member of the Ephemera Society of America.

Robert had many hobbies and interests, including his membership in the Ephemera Society. His favorite passion was antiques, he enjoyed attending many sales and purchasing, collecting and selling antiques. Most of all, he cherished his family and always looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren. He will be forever remembered as a loving husband, devoted father and doting grandfather. Robert and Yvonne will truly be missed by all who loved and knew them.

He is survived by his children, Robert D. McAllister of Marlborough and Timothy S. McAllister of North Carolina, and his step-son, Michael Loretta and his wife Nilda of Spencer, and was predeceased by his two step-sons, Patrick and John Loretta. He is also survived by his brother, Paul F. McAllister of Marlborough; his 10 loving grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service and celebration of Robert’s life was held Feb. 20 at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home of Hudson. Burial services will be held at a later date.
