Hudson – Adelina “Aldina” S. (Braga) Chaves, of Hudson, 91, entered into eternal rest peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016 at Marlborough Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Aldina was Born in Santo Espirito, Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal and immigrated to Hudson with her family in 1967. She was a life member of the Hudson Portuguese Club and a Eucharistic Minister with St. Michael’s Church.

She worked for many years as a QA Inspector for Bose Corporation in Framingham, until her retirement in 1994. She then worked for United Stretch in Hudson until 1996.

She enjoyed family gatherings and was happiest when attending social events, where she was quite often the first to arrive and the last to leave. She loved crochet, and was heavily involved in various fund raising activities for many different charities.

Aldina was the cherished wife of the late Amancio Chaves. She is survived by her children, Manuel J, Chaves and his wife Octavia, Jose A Chaves and his wife Aparecida, and Luis A Chaves, and her daughter-in-law, Eunice Chaves, all of Hudson, and Paul J. Chaves and his wife Jennifer of Clinton. She is also survived by her sister, Laura Garcia of Hudson. She was predeceased by her son, Vicente A. Chaves of Hudson, and by her siblings, Jose, Manuel, Antonio, Angelo, Maria, Beatriz, and Gloria. She had nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, along with so many friends who loved her dearly. Aldina will be greatly missed by all.

A funeral Mass from St. Michael’s Church of Hudson was held Feb. 27, followed by burial at Michael’s Cemetery.
