Obit James M. BellarosaGrafton – James M. “Jim” Bellarosa, 76, passed away with his family at his side Friday, March 4, 2016 after recent illness.

Jim leaves his devoted wife of nearly 50 years, Jeannine (Hendricks) Bellarosa; his children, Romal B. Bellarosa and Andrea P. Bellarosa; and his brother Donald Bellarosa. He also leaves his grandchildren, Chevon (Bellarosa) Janczuk and her husband Timothy, Rashelle Bellarosa, Maxwell Bellarosa, Jake Carey, Spencer Bellarosa, Sean Carey, and three great-granddaughters.

Jim was born July 19, 1939 in Clinton, the son of the late Dona and Marguerite (Hanney) Bellarosa. He was raised in Berlin and had resided in Grafton for the past 48 years.

Jim had contracted polio at the age of 10, but he continued to work diligently to support his family. He was educated at the Mass Hospital School, and graduated from Clinton High School and Boston University.

Jim loved to write and was a published author, having published many books including “A Horse of a Different Color,” “Virgil Hunter,” and “A Problem of Plumbing.” He also served on the Mass State Arts Lottery Committee, and was a loyal and enthusiastic Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.

Following his wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. He will be cremated and his ashes will be placed privately. The Roney Funeral Home in North Grafton is assisting with arrangements.

The family suggests remembering Jim with donations to the James Bellarosa Children’s Education Fund in care of Savers Cooperative Bank, 96 Worcester St., North Grafton, MA 01536.
