Westborough/Grafton – Ronen Gladstone, 4, who is a happy preschooler at the North Grafton Elementary School, was diagnosed with Down syndrome at birth. His parents, Liora Bram and Michael Gladstone, held a successful fundraising dinner in his honor for the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress (MDSC) at Sapporo’s Restaurant in Westborough Feb. 29.
Bram said she was thrilled that almost 100 people gathered to share food, camaraderie and raffle items donated by a number of area businesses.
Bram’s brother, Arie Bram, who lives in Beacon, N.Y., will be running the Boston Marathon this year, also in honor of his nephew Ronen. He has pledged to raise $10,000 for the MDSC, which will include proceeds from the fundraising dinner.
“When we moved to Grafton, we had no idea how lucky we were,” said Gladstone in a press release. “Sometimes it seems like we can’t go anywhere in town without running into someone who knows Ronen, and we are thrilled at the support he gets at North Grafton Elementary and throughout the community.”
