Westborough – Barbara L. Mahan, 84, of Westborough, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation. She was the wife of Donald L. Mahan.

Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Emile and Antonia (Waiz) Mainville, and was educated in Leicester schools.

Mrs. Mahan was employed as a cafeteria worker for the Westborough Public Schools prior to her retirement.

She was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church and a member of the American Dutch Rabbit Association. She also enjoyed horses, gardening and spending summers in Vermont.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her four children, Donna E. Brooks and her husband Richard of Dorchester, N.H., Cheryl L. Dion and her husband John of Sutton, Brian A. Mahan of Randolph, Vt., and Michael L. Mahan and his partner Betsy Ward of Millbury; two brothers, David Mainville of Spencer and Thomas Mainville of Eastham; one sister, Ann Evers of West Brookfield; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, March 14, at 10:30 a.m., in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston, will be private. Calling hours at the David A. Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Sunday, March 13, from 2-5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
