Obit-Flag_USE-THIS-ONE4Clinton – Helen G. Delinsky, 82, of Clinton and former longtime resident of Hudson, died Saturday, March 19, 2016, surrounded by her loving family, at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center. She leaves her loving husband of 56 years, Howard R. Delinsky of Clinton.

Helen was born and raised in Hudson, daughter of the late Francis and Eva (Gotham) Collins. She attended local schools and was a 1952 graduate of Saint Michael’s Academy in Hudson. She was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army Intelligence Department from 1954 to 1959, when she was honorably discharged.

Helen was employed as a nurse’s aide for many years at Madonna Hall in Marlborough until her retirement. She was a member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson.

Helen had many hobbies and interests in her life, but truly loved and cherished her family. Her grandchildren and all the wonderful times she shared with them became her true passion in life. Throughout her life she enjoyed a good long walk and her unique love of animals, especially the many species of birds who visited her daily for treats was always special. She looked forward to summer vacations on Cape Cod with family and friends and the many memorable times on Fort Meadow Reservoir in Hudson. Her loving and caring spirit will be greatly missed but always remembered by all who loved and knew her.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her two daughters, Beth A. Delinsky of Clinton and Laurie M. McGuire and her husband James of Clinton. She also leaves her two loving grandchildren, James R. McGuire and his wife Kimberly of Chaddsford, Pa. and Cassandra A. McGuire of Laconia, N.H.; and her brother, George Collins of Florida, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, William Collins, and step-brother, Joseph Gotham.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, March 23, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may attend calling hours Tuesday, March 22, from 5-8 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Helen may be made to MSPCA Animal Care Center, 350 S Huntington Ave., Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
