Gymnastics Learning Center team wins state championship

    Shrewsbury – The Level 8 Junior Olympics Team from the Gymnastics Learning Center in Shrewsbury won the Massachusetts State Championship March 20 at Shrewsbury High School. The undefeated team also swept individual awards, and all five gymnasts qualified to represent Massachusetts at the regional competition. The team is led by Gymnastics Learning Center coaches Robert McElroy, Nikki McElroy and Jacqui Olsen.

    Team members include Sophia Croft, 13, who won gold on the uneven bars, the balance beam and the all-around; Rowen Sadlier, 12, who won gold on the floor exercise and silver in the all-around; Alexa Ryan, 12, who won gold on the uneven bars, the balance beam and the all-around;
    Catherine Von Hausen, 12, who won gold on the vault and the floor exercise, and silver in the all-round; and Julia Forget, 13, who won silver on the uneven bars, the balance beam and the all-around.
