Football-croppedShrewsbury – The Shrewsbury High School (SHS) Colonials will hold an athletic and recreation equipment drive Saturday, April 9, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Come to the gym entrance of the school, 64 Holden St., with any new or gently used sports or recreation equipment to donate.

They will accept most equipment, such as basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, lacrosse sticks, hockey sticks, bats, gloves, cleats, Frisbees, jump ropes and playground balls. Oversized items such as bicycles, clothing or broken equipment will not be accepted.

SHS athletes will distribute the equipment at an elementary or middle school in need while discussing the importance of staying physically active and having some fun with the kids.
