Hudson – The Hudson Public Library has a number of children’s activities coming up throughout the month of May.

Lap time is Tuesdays, May 3, 17, 24 and 31, at 10 a.m. for children 2 and under. Children learn finger plays and songs. There will also be Lap Time Take Two Saturday, May 7, at 10 a.m. These are drop-in programs.

Sing-a-long is Thursdays at 10 a.m., for children birth to 5, May 5, 12, 19 and 26. Come sing and dance, then march in the Noisy Marching Parade. This is a drop-in program.

Mother/Daughter Book Club, for girls 9-12, will be held Thursdays, May 5 and 19, at 7 p.m. Read a great book and come and discuss it with your mom. Also, a Parent/Child Book Club, for boys and girls 9-12, will be held Wednesdays, May 4 and 18, at 7 p.m. Books are chosen by the groups. Sign-up is required for both clubs at the Children’s Desk.

During the entire months, come and get a fun Book Bingo card to fill out, then come show library staff what you made. Those that complete their board get a Chick-fil-A prize. This is a self-directed family activity.

Knucklebones Playspace Program for kids aged 8 months to 5 years, will be held Tuesday, May 10, at 10:30 a.m. Come see the folks from Knucklebones transform the library play area into a mesmerizing fun and movement space. Sign up required at the Children’s desk.

On Saturday, May 14, a representative from the YMCA Family and Community Partnership will present a Spanish-English story time program for children up to 6 years old with a parent/caregiver. Sign-up requested but not required.

For two hours Monday, May 16, children can “play unplugged” at the library’s preschool area, which will be free from electronic distractions. Instead, there will be exciting toys and play spaces to discover with the children. This is a drop-in program from 9 to 11 a.m.

A drop-in afternoon craft program will be held Wednesday, May 18, at 1:30 p.m. for all ages. Drop-in family craft events will be held May 28 and every fourth Saturday of the month from 2-3 p.m.

A Dog Reading Program for grades K-3 will be held Saturday afternoons, May 7 and 14. Join Maya V. and Kelsey K as they help kids become more comfortable with their reading skills by reading to dogs. Contact the Children’s Desk to sign up for a time slot.

For more information or to sign up for programs that require registration, call the Children’s Desk at 978-568-9645.
