SH Rotary club event-rsShrewsbury – The Rotary Club of Shrewsbury has announced that it will host “A Taste of Shrewsbury: Food and Brew Festival” May 15, to showcase area restaurants, food vendors, and craft breweries from around the area. The family-friendly event will feature samplings from Shrewsbury and the surrounding area’s leading establishments, and celebrate a growing local food scene.

The event will take place on Sunday, May 15 from 12-4 p.m. at Central One Federal Credit Union in Shrewsbury, located at 714 Main St.  Tickets sold in advance will be $15 for adults (food only), $30 for food and drink (adults only), and $5 for children under 12. Tickets purchased day-of will be $20 for adults (food only), $40 for food and drink (adults only), and still $5 for children under 12. Tickets can be purchased online at www.ShrewsburyRotary.org. Those interested in participating as vendors should contact [email protected].

The event will take place under a tent, and is rain or shine.

The Community Advocate is the Media Sponsor for the event, which is open to residents across Central Massachusetts and MetroWest.

Proceeds will go to benefit local community projects supported by the Rotary Club of Shrewsbury, including but not limited to: 2nd Grade Literacy Day, St. Anne’s milk program, scholarships for local high school students, and Shrewsbury Youth & Family Services.

The Rotary Club of Shrewsbury, part of Rotary District 7910, is a service organization and official club chapter of Rotary International. This will be the club’s third fundraising calendar; in 2015, the organization produced the Spag’s-themed calendar that proved to be a runaway hit. The Rotary Club of Shrewsbury meets every Monday (non-Holiday) at 12:15 p.m. at the Post Office Pub in Grafton. For more information, visit the club’s website www.ShrewsburyRotary.org.
