Grafton – On April 15, fifth-graders at Millbury Street Elementary School took a step back to Colonial times. They spent the day learning how people from that time period lived. The students made their own candles, stenciled placemats, and created their own tin luminaries. They practiced their calligraphy alphabet on their own hornbooks. The classes played Colonial games such as hoops & sticks, Jacob’s Ladder, and a fun game of Rounders. The day was highlighted by a visit from the music group, The Jolly Rogues, who played traditional music and taught them different courting dances.
