Northborough – Beginning photography students’ work came together at an April exhibit in the Northborough Public Library’s meeting room.
The exhibit, a culmination of a six-week beginning photography class, taught by photographer and Northborough resident Jeanine Vitale of Prism Point Photography, displays the work of eight students whose subjects range from architecture to portraits to natural objects such as flowers and leaves.
The course, open to anyone interested with no experience necessary, was intended to introduce beginners to basic photography concepts including composition, aperture, shutter speeds, lighting, and editing in Photoshop. Classes included a mixture of explanations and demonstrations with Vitale using her own equipment and photographs as examples.
The course took place at the Northborough Free Library on Wednesday evenings as part of the library’s spring programming. Vitale plans to offer courses at the library in the future, including one focused on editing photographs in Photoshop and another similar beginner photography class.
