Shrewsbury – The second annual Duck Dash 5K Run/Walk for Camp Wonder will be held Saturday, June 11, beginning at 9 a.m. at Sherwood Middle School, 28 Sherwood Ave., Shrewsbury.

Proceeds from the race will benefit Camp Wonder, a camp in Livermore, Calif., for children with chronic or life-threatening skin diseases. The event is named for the camp’s mascot, a duck.

Race Director Patricia Egan, a senior at Shrewsbury High School, has a chronic skin condition and has been attending Camp Wonder for 10 years.

“This year I will be a counselor, and I want to give back to the camp that has given me unconditional encouragement and taught me so much about feeling compassion for others,” she said. “The kids at Camp Wonder are truly an inspiration to me.”

She added: “As a member of the Shrewsbury High School track team, I know that a combination of hard work and teamwork can lead to success. I am hoping to help make a difference in these children’s lives.”

The entry fee is $20 for registrations received before June 1. Pre-race bib pickup will be held at Marathon Sports, 50 Boston Turnpike (White City Shopping Center), Shrewsbury, Friday, June 10. Race day registration is $25 and begins at 8 a.m.
