Hudson – Jose E. Cabral, 87, of Hudson, died Monday, May 23, 2016, surrounded by his loving family, at Marlborough Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 58 years to the late Maria A. (Soares) Cabral, who died in 2009.
Jose was born and raised in Santa Maria, Azores of Portugal, son of the late Jose J. and Maria G. (Santos) Cabral. He resided in Portugal until immigrating to Hudson in 1976.
He was employed as a machine operator by Middlesex Research Company in Hudson for many years until his retirement. He was a member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson.
Jose was a dedicated worker and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with all his loving grandchildren and adoring great-grandchildren. He looked forward to playing cards with family and friends and being outdoors tending to his garden. He will be truly missed.
He is survived by his children, Alfred S. Cabral and wife Maria, Maria P. Resendes and husband Agostinho, Jose A. Cabral and fiancée Ida Resendes, Valeriana S. Terra and husband Manuel, and Joao S. Cabral and wife Olga, all of Hudson. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Antonio and Manuel Cabral and Maria Santos.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 27, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow at Saint Michael’s Cemetery of Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours Thursday, May 26, from 5-8 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.
