Northborough – As part of Northborough’s 250th anniversary celebration, during the town’s annual Applefest Sept. 15-18, the eighth annual Classic Car Show & Cruise will be held Sunday, Sept. 18.
Organizer Alan Archibald hopes that this year’s show will be the biggest yet to recognize the town’s anniversary milestone.
“We have had a good response every year,” he said. “We had the biggest turnout yet last year, with more than 60 cars. It’s quite an eclectic variety of vehicles – modern customized, antique, hot rods, barn finds and others.”
Most of the cars are from central Mass., Archibald noted, but they would love to have more from throughout New England.
“We are always looking for new ones and surprises,” he said. “We are hoping to reach 100 cars this year.”
As in the past, the classic cars will be also be featured in the Applefest Parade, cruising through the streets of Northborough.
“The feedback from the show is very positive,” Archibald said. “It has been warmly received.”
He encouraged anyone with a unique automobile to join the event.
“We want to make sure it’s a legendary year for the 250th,” Archibald said.
The Car Show and Cruise will be held Sunday, Sept. 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Northborough Shopping Plaza, 255 W. Main St. Registration begins at 8 a.m. To join the show, contact Archibald at 774-258-0444 or [email protected].
