Worcester – St. John’s High School, Shrewsbury, held the Graduation and Baccalaureate Mass for the class of 2016 at Assumption College’s Plourde Center May 15.
Rev. José Rodriguez celebrated the baccalaureate liturgy that preceded the ceremony for the 214 graduates.
In his final address to graduates as headmaster, Michael Welch presented the Award for Academic Excellence to William “Sal” Hughes of Clinton, who delivered the Valedictory Address to his classmates.
Matthew Franzoso of Shrewsbury was honored with the 2016 Xaverian Award. This award is given to a senior, nominated by the faculty, who best exemplifies the Xaverian spirit of humility, compassion, faith, and leading by service.
