Obit Stella M. LipinskiGrafton – Stella M. (Matuzek) Lipinski, 96, passed Saturday, June 4, 2016. Her husband of 44 years, Alexander P. Lipinski, passed June 29, 1999.

She leaves three children, Linda L. Lapinski of Worcester, Nancy Lipinski-Connors of Grafton, who resided with Mrs. Lipinski and was her caregiver, and her son, Thomas Lipinski and his wife Kim of Grafton; one brother, Stanley V. Matuzek of Grafton; and four grandchildren, Thomas Stanley Lipinski Jr., Elizabeth A. Fay, P.F.C. Zachary T. Lipinski, USMC, and Jake A. Lipinski. She also leaves three nieces, Patricia Bukoski, Diane Moen, and Cynthia Roy; one nephew, Stanley G. Matuzek: many cousins and dear friends.

Mrs. Lipinski was born Dec. 8, 1919 in Grodiszko, Gorne, Poland, the daughter of Vincente and Anelia (Mish) Matuzek. She emigrated with her mother and brother from Poland in the spring 1939 to the U.S. to join her father Vicente, who was awaiting their arrival. They all then settled in Grafton, where she has lived for 77 years.

Her first employment here was at the Wuskanut Mills in the Fisherville Village of South Grafton. She then worked at Kartiganer Hat Co. in Upton, Prest Wheel Corporation in South Grafton, and then Burgess Leather Company in Grafton until retiring.

Stella, who was known to many as “Babci,” was an extremely proud mother and grandmother of polish heritage who instilled a strong sense of Catholicism and belief in God to her children. Had you ever visited her home you would never have left hungry as Stella could have “fed an army” with her famous gwompkies and kapusta. She adored her family and loved her home, flowers, gardening, and the ocean.

Stella was also a dedicated Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots fan, particularly ” her” Tom Brady. She loved her community, was a devout parishioner of St. James Catholic Church and a member of The Daughters of Isabella for over 70 years.

Flowers may be sent or donations made to St. James Church Memorial Fund, 89 Main St., South Grafton, MA 01560, honoring her dedication to her parish.

All are invited to calling hours with her family Monday, June 6, from 5-8 p.m., at the Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. Stella’s funeral will be Tuesday, June 7 from the Roney Funeral Home, with family and friends then taking her to her Parish Church of St. James at 89 Main St. in South Grafton to share the celebration of her funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. She will then be laid to rest next to her husband, Alexander, at Fairview Cemetery in South Grafton.
