Hudson – The Assabet Valley Chamber of Commerce will present the 29th Annual Hudson Community Fest Saturday, June 11th, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., on South St. in the heart of downtown Hudson. This free event will feature over 125 vendors, a myriad of entertainment at both Cellucci Park and the Avidia Bank Sound Stages, and the Hudson Rotary Club Duck Races.  In conjunction with the Fest, the Highland City Striders will host a Spirit of Hudson 5K Run/Walk to benefit Hudson Elks Scholarships (www.highlandcitystriders.org).

For the fourth year, the Fest will host two sound stages with music being performed all day long.

The Food Court will feature a variety of items from salads and lobster to hand cut French fries and fried pickles, to scrumptious desserts.

The Nonprofit Row will showcase over 30 local nonprofits including the ever-popular kittens from the Cat Rescue of Marlborough and Hudson (CaRMaH). Additionally, there will be dozens of free and affordable activities including the Splash Park, face painting, spin art, hat decorating, the Happy Wagon, and carnival games.  For a complete schedule of events and activities, visit www.assabetvalleychamber.org/hudsonfest.shtm or visit the Hudson Community Fest Facebook page.

To commemorate Hudson’s 150th anniversary, St. Mary’s Credit Union will host a “Happy Birthday Hudson” table in the Avidia lot, which will offer up gratis face painting, birthday hat decorating, and mini cupcakes. Additionally, the “Irish Brigade” encampment will be in the Cellucci Park, on the corner of South and Houghton Streets. Also new this year, is a free skate in the Skateboard Park, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., with staffers from Eastern Border.

While the South Street Municipal Parking Lot will be open, patrons are encouraged to also utilize the Hudson Mill Houghton Court Lot, the Railroad Crossing Lot (across from the Senior Center), the Senior Center Lot, and after 12 pm, the Citizens Lot.

This free celebration of community, commerce, and culture is due to the generosity of its sponsors— Avidia Bank, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Better Accounting Services, Body & Paint Center, Cain Electric, Country Glass Co., David Monteiro Contracting, Digital Federal Credit Union, H & R Block, Hudson Investments, Hudson Rotary Club, Juniper Farms/Bolton Oil, L & S Boule Insurance, Lemire Insurance, Levine-Piro Law, McDonalds, Medusa Brewing Co., MOCA Gourmet, Mullahy’s Cheese Shop, Music Together of Assabet Valley, NETCO, New England Clean Energy, Randall Properties, St. Mary’s Credit Union, and Woodsedge Children’s Center.
