Region – Several local towns are celebrating the upcoming Fourth of July holiday with music, entertainment and fireworks.
The Shrewsbury Parks and Recreation Department will hold its 46th annual Fourth of July Celebration at Dean Park Monday, July 4, from 12 – 4 p.m.
Festivities include musical entertainment by DJ Jimmie Johnson and Crystal Entertainment featuring music and games. There will also be face painting and inflatable amusements.
Boy Scout Troop 114 will be holding a camping demonstration as part of their year-long 100th anniversary celebration. They will also have the grills on for hamburgers, veggie burgers, and hotdog meals.
The Parks & Recreation concession stand will have sno-cones, popcorn and ice cream bars. At 12:30 p.m., there will be a decorated bicycle and doll carriage parade for children. Tickets for inflatable amusements are $2 per ride or $8 for unlimited access to events. Please bring cash for tickets and food purchases.

The town of Westborough will be holding its annual July Fourth Block Party Friday, July 1, from 6-10 p.m., on West Main Street. There will be food, music and games. Admission and parking are free.
The Westborough Community Band will begin its summer concert season at 6 p.m. in front of the Forbes Municipal Building on West Main Street. The Reminisants will also perform.
Children’s activities will include a moon bounce, dunk tank, sand art, photo booth, face painting, hay and pony rides, Big Daddy Racing and more. Food and concessions will be provided by Outback Steakhouse, Tavolino, Papa Gino’s, Chick-fil-A, Veebop Ice Cream and Dean’s Concessions (hot dogs, cotton candy, fried dough and more).
