Obit Alexandrina Fernandes CabralHudson – Alexandrina Fernandes Cabral, 92, fondly known as ‘Tia Alexandrina do Forno,” of Hudson, died peacefully at her home Saturday, July 2, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.

Alexandrina was born in Santa Maria, the Azores, daughter of the late Manuel Fernandes and Maria Chaves Pereira. She was a well-known seamstress in Santa Maria, and was later employed at Arrow Automotive and at ABC Cleaners as a seamstress in Hudson. She was a member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson.

Alexandrina was the loving mother of eight children, Jose Dinis Cabral and his wife Maria, Laura Moreira and her fiancé Jose Braga, Antonio Cabral and his wife Fatima, Angelo Cabral and his wife Lucia, Angelina Freitas and her husband Juliao, Duarte Cabral, Silvino Cabral and his wife Aura, and Jorge Cabral and his wife Sandra. She also leaves 19 loving grandchildren, 25 adoring great-grandchildren, sister Diamantina Chaves of Taunton, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Joao Freitas Cabral, who died in 1988.

Alexandrina cherished her family and truly loved family gatherings. She enjoyed Portuguese music and folklore and the Holy Ghost festivities. She loved traveling, trips to the Cape, camping, fishing, cooking, and baking her famous biscoitos de orelha.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, July 8, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow at Saint Michael’s Cemetery of Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours Thursday, July 7, from 5-8 p.m., at Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson (www.tighehamilton.com).
