Shrewsbury/Westborough – State Representative Hannah Kane announced her second annual Charity Classic golf tournament will be held Monday, Aug. 15, at The Haven Country Club in Boylston.

Kane, Tournament Director Beth Casavant and the Host Committee are welcoming back returning sponsors as well as new sponsors who share Representative Kane’s strong commitment to service and giving back to the community.

“Service to others has always been a driving force in my life, ingrained in me by my parents and grandparents,” she said. “The opportunity to have a greater impact on the lives of others is one of the primary reasons I sought this office.”

Kane further reiterates that she is hoping to build on the success of last year’s tournament where $45,000 was raised for the following worthy local charities that provide vital human services for our community – St. Anne’s Human Services, Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services, and the Westborough Food Pantry.

The Hannah Kane Charity Classic features a continental breakfast sponsored by Aurora Exterior Painting during registration followed by a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start of Bramble style play. Participants will enjoy a BBQ luncheon served on the golf course sponsored by Polito Development Corporation and a 19th Hole Reception sponsored by Central One Federal Credit Union featuring a sumptuous buffet and cash bar. Those individuals who are unable to participate in golfing but wish to support the event are encouraged to attend the 19th Hole Reception which begins at approximately 4 p.m., and includes an extensive silent auction and raffle. Tickets for the 19th Hole Reception are $60 per person.

The following generous sponsors already committed: Presenting Sponsor, the Gene J. DeFeudis Family Foundation;  Leader Board, Carlstrom Pressed Metal, Dunkin Donuts, Robert “Chief Joseph” Terkanian, Metso, and Wheelabrator Shrewsbury; Hole In One – Cornerstone Energy Services and Grossman Development Group; Eagle Sponsor – Digital Federal Credit Union, Nardella Realty Company and Shrewsbury Federal Credit Union;  Birdie Sponsors – Allen & Major Inc., Beals and Thomas, Bowditch & Dewey LLP, James N. Ball & Company, Mirick O’Connell, TD Bank, Wachusett Mountain, Salmon Health & Retirement/The Willows at Westborough and Webster Five Cents Savings Bank. Thank You Gift Sponsors are Robert “Chief Joseph” Terkanian and Wheelabrator Shrewsbury. Quality Beverage is returning as this year’s Beverage Sponsor. Wagner Motors is once again sponsoring a Hole in One Contest with a chance to win a lease on a sports car. The Cart Sponsorship level is currently available as well as other sponsorship opportunities.

For more information about sponsorships, to donate auction or raffle items or to attend the 19th Hole Reception, contact Casavant at 508-641-8174 or [email protected] or Rep. Kane at [email protected].
