Marlborough – Matt Gibbs was installed president of the Marlborough Lions Club for a third term during the annual meeting June 15. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of three awards – the President’s Appreciation Award and two supported by the full membership.

A recipient of the Lion of the Year award is Laura Koester “for her 100-percent dedication to the club.” A special award that requires the approval of the International Association of Lions Club, upon nomination by the local group, was a lifetime membership presented to Charlie Painton for his total participation and support of all projects and activities undertaken by Marlborough Lions during his many years of service.

Randy Scott welcomed members and guests and introduced past District Governor Joyce Hogan who conducted the installation ceremony.

Other officers who will be serving include: Elizabeth Ruane, secretary; Misty Viera, treasurer; David Wagner, first vice president; Barney Kalman, second vice-president; Peter Herman, third vice-president; John Usinas, immediate past president; Jeff Minard, lion tamer; Michael Traiforos, tail twister; Mary Scott, membership director; Painton, chaplain; and Marlene King, investigations.
