Grants available for Southborough organizations

Southborough – The Foundation for MetroWest is now accepting proposals for the 2016 Southborough Community Fund (SCF) Competitive Grant Program from registered nonprofits and organizations operating in Southborough.

The SCF Board encouraged applications that bring innovative thinking to big issues and small ones – all for the benefit of Southborough. These include programs that increase volunteerism and community involvement, strengthen civic engagement and emphasize collaborations that enhance community initiatives.

SCF will consider grants that fall within these priority areas: family and human services/support; arts and culture; and the environment. The board will not be accepting applications from Southborough schools or organized youth sports at this time. Grants range from $1,000 to $10,000, but grants of more than $10,000 may be considered for projects of exceptional merit.

The application deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9. Notice of grant decisions will be sent to all applicants in early November.
