Shrewsbury – The Friends of the Shrewsbury Public Library announced the recipient of the 2016 scholarship in the amount of $1,000, which benefits a Shrewsbury resident that has graduated this spring from a local high school and will continue his or her education this fall as a full-time student working toward a bachelor’s or associate’s degree. The Friends’ intent is to assist in the purchase of the recipient’s textbooks and/or other course materials.

This year’s recipient is Liam Monahan, a 2016 Shrewsbury High School graduate who will be attending Northeastern University in Boston in the fall. Liam plans to study public policy and government. He has an impressive resume which includes community service and academic honors.
