Westborough – In 1886, the Westborough State Hospital was built on the shores of Lake Chauncy and near the Northborough border. In 2010, the commonwealth closed the hospital and then four years later, sold it to the town of Westborough for $2.2 million. Town officials are now seeking proposals for the purchase of approximately 36 of the property’s 94 acres. The parcel for sale contains 64 buildings, many of which are in a state of disrepair due to vandalism.
