Northborough – Members of the Northborough’s 250th Town Chorus have been rehearsing for weeks and will perform a free concert to celebrate the town’s anniversary Aug. 10 at 7:30 pm at Algonquin Regional High School, 79 Bartlett St.
Under the direction of Tom Lowe, the chorus will be performing selected choral pieces from two of Northborough’s own composers, Abraham Wood and William Kellette.
Patriotic pieces including the Star Spangled Banner, God Bless America, America the Beautiful, and Battle Hymn of the Republic. Proud to be an American will also be part of the program.
In addition, The Men of Song will be performing including a combined number with the Northborough 250th Chorus. The Men of Song was founded in 1950, as part of the International Barbershop Harmony Society and has been presenting four-part a capella, close harmony singing throughout Central Massachusetts including during the Northborough Applefest parade.
