Hudson – John J. Joyce, 84, died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016 after a long period of failing health. He was the husband of Sandra (Wilson) Joyce, to whom he was married for 53 years.
He was born in Boston, the son of the late James J. and Julia M. (McSweeney) Joyce, and lived in Hudson for the past 52 years.
Mr. Joyce was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War and later went on to receive his BA and MBA from Boston College. He went on to work many years at Natick Labs, retiring in 1987.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Scott Joyce and his wife Susan of New Hampshire, Terrence Joyce and his fiancée Johnna Clair Metz of Hudson, and Timothy Joyce and his fiancée Jane Pan of California; two brothers, Paul Joyce of Marshfield and Dennis Joyce of E. Hampton; a sister, Julieanne Dorsey of Canton; and one granddaughter, Jennifer. He was predeceased by three brothers, James “Buddy,” Thomas, and Liam Joyce, and two sisters, Winifred Arseneault and Mary Joyce.
Funeral arrangements, under the direction of the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com) of Marlborough, will be private.
