Marlborough – Mayor Arthur Vigeant July 27 accepted a generous Marlborough Labor Day Parade sponsorship presented by Republic Services’ Municipal Services Manager Terry Grady. This year’s parade will be held Monday, Sept. 5, at 12 p.m.
The success of each Marlborough Labor Day Parade is due in large part to donations and sponsorship made by individuals, organizations, and businesses like Republic Services. These contributors help to fund floats and entertainment from around the New England area, creating a memorable event for all ages.
“The parade is such a unique community event. Many residents remember attending this annual event since they could walk. It is a valued tradition experienced and shared by so many and each donation is greatly appreciated,” Vigeant said.
Many sponsors and donors have already contributed to the 2016 concerted effort to make the 65th Marlborough Labor Day Parade a success. These sponsors and donors have been acknowledged on the Marlborough Labor Day Parade website and include St. Mary’s Credit Union, Ken’s Foods, Marlborough Savings Bank, Murphy Insurance, Universal Window and Door, Riemer & Braunstein, Avidia Bank, Juniper Farms, Acorn Self Storage, Karnak Realty, AFC Urgent Care (Formerly Doctors Express), Digital Federal Credit Union, Brox Industries, AAA Northeast, New England Martial Arts, UMass Memorial Hospital/Marlborough Hospital, Marlborough Nissan, Knights of Columbus Council #81, Niki Tsongas Committee, Lakeside Oil Co., Inc., Bolton Street Tavern, Committee to Re-elect Carmine Gentile, Champion Cleaners, Villaris Martial Arts, Marlboro Wine and Spirits Co. and Special K Tax and Accounting.
Donors that have contributed $500 or more as Drum Major, Percussion, or Brass Section donors will also have signage in the parade.
